Time & Location
09 Aug 2025, 11:00 – 23:00 GMT+3
Fuchsia Gardens, Riara Ridge, Kenya
About the event
On this day, we will celebrate our wedding in Kenya with friends and family.
In line with the Kikuyu culture, we plan to have a traditional dowry ceremony (ruracio) a few days before the wedding — more details to follow!
Where to Stay
For guests traveling from abroad, we recommend looking for a place to stay in the list below, or via Airbnb / Booking.com.
We recommend that you stay in the area called Westlands, which is well-serviced with bars, restaurants, malls, etc. The wedding will be at Fuchsia Gardens, which is a 45-minute drive from Westlands. We will provide transportation to/from the venue on the wedding day.
Some suggestions:
Once You’re There
There are plenty of things to do and places to visit in Kenya. Much of this will come down to personal preference and budget considerations, but all of the following are popular with tourists:
Going on a safari. There are plenty of tour operators offering pickup/drop-off from Nairobi to destinations such as Ol Pejeta wildlife sanctuary (which is home to the last two Northern White Rhinos in the world and is attempting to save them from extinction through IVF), Maasai Mara national park, Tsavo national park, Amboseli national park, Lake Nakuru or Lake Naivasha. If you do not have much time in Kenya or cannot travel long distances, worry not. Kenya has the world's only national park within a capital city — the Nairobi National Park, which offers a rare blend of urban and wildlife experiences.
Visiting the Kenyan coast. You can take an inland flight to Mombasa, Diani, Malindi or Lamu. You can opt to share a cottage with a couple of people (most of these cottages include an option to hire a chef to cook for you while you’re there).
For the adventurous: climb Mount Kenya or Kilimanjaro!
Feeding endangered Rothschild giraffes at the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi.
Going for a walk or cycling at Karura Forest (Nairobi).
Eating out or having a drink at one of the many great bars and restaurants. See this list on Google maps with some personally curated suggestions .
Visiting the National Museum of Kenya (Nairobi).
Visiting the Bomas of Kenya to experience Kenya's diverse cultures through music and dance (Nairobi).
The “all-you-can-eat” game meat experience at the Carnivore Restaurant (Nairobi).
Visiting and adopting rescued baby elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (Nairobi).
Visiting the Maasai Market — a vibrant, open-air market in Nairobi known for traditional African art, crafts, jewelry and souvenirs. The market moves to different locations within Nairobi throughout the week.
We will organise some visits around Nairobi in the days prior to the wedding, for guest that would prefer to do things in group.
